Nomination Form - Printer Friendly Form What is the Purpose? To honor and demonstrate appreciation to a local teacher for excellence in education. Who is eligible? Nominees must be full-time teachers in grades K-12 in the Dover Public School System or full-time teachers in a Chamber member private school for the 2008-2009 school year. Nominees must plan to continue in an active teaching status next year. Who can nominate a teacher? Anyone can nominate a teacher for the awards…a student, a parent, another teacher, a principal, a supervisor or a member of the community. An individual may nominate only one person for the award. Teachers may not nominate themselves. Nominations may include up to four letters of support from among the following: superintendent, principal, headmaster, colleague, student, former student, parent or member of the community. These letters should describe the attributes that your nominee possesses that make him/her a really outstanding teacher and well respected by colleagues, parents, students and the total community. What are the criteria for selecting the 2008 Teacher of the Year? A panel of judges will review the nominations and select the award recipient(s). Nominees must be teachers who:
Awards and Recognition The Teacher of the Year will receive a $500.00 cash award to be used for educational purposes and recognition at a special awards ceremony. Deadline for nominations:
