Help the Lions Club of Dover, Rollinsford & South Berwick Recycle Plastics!
April 04, 2025For the past three years, the Dover, Rollinsford & South Berwick Lions Club has been working to keep plastic waste out of landfills through the Trex “NexTrex” challenge. This initiative transforms recycled plastics—such as grocery bags, produce bags, ziplock bags, and pellet bags—into beautiful benches, many of which can be found throughout our communities.
Lions Club volunteers collect these plastics from local transfer stations and other sites, and deliver them to participating retailers, where they are ultimately repurposed into durable benches.
We Need Your Help!
Our collection efforts are growing, and we’re looking for volunteers to assist with plastic collection at the Dover Chamber and Rollinsford Transfer Station. The plastics need to be picked up weekly and transported to the loading dock behind Hannaford Grocery for delivery to Trex.
Would you like to be part of this meaningful effort to reduce landfill waste? Join us in making a difference! Email lionsdrsb@gmail.com to get involved.
