  • New England Ukulele Festival Debuts May 4 in Newton to Benefit Hospitalized Children

The Southern New Hampshire Ukulele Group (SNHUG), in collaboration with two renowned New England ukulele ensembles—the A&W Players and The Unlikely Strummers—is thrilled to announce the inaugural New England Ukulele Festival on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the American Legion Post 440 in Newton, Massachusetts.

This exciting new event will benefit the Ukulele Kids Club (UKC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting the healing power of music by donating ukuleles to hospitalized children across the country.
Festival-goers will enjoy live performances from eight highly regarded ukulele groups from across the region. Headlining the event is award-winning singer-songwriter and ukulele virtuoso Victoria Vox, who will also lead a workshop open to all attendees.

Serving as emcee is Marlén Rodriguez-Wolfe, Chairperson of the UKC Board of Directors, a board-certified music therapist, and an accomplished musician.

Admission is free, and donations are gratefully accepted to support the UKC’s mission. Since its founding, the organization has provided over 16,000 ukuleles to children in hospitals nationwide, including 30 right here in New England.
    The event will also feature:

    • A live online auction filled with exclusive items, including a signed Keith Richards ukulele, “Ask Me Anything” sessions with celebrities, original artwork, and more. Visit: airauctioneer.com/neuf
    • A limited-edition T-shirt sale in advance of the event: bonfire.com/new-england-ukulele-fest
    • Raffle prizes, cash food and bar, and a community jam-along finale open to all participants
Major sponsors include: NBC, Watertown Savings Bank, Mya-Moe Ukuleles, Bedrock Gardens, Glen & Tara Bickford, and many others who support the power of music and community.
