  • Plans for the first ever New England Ukulele Festival are in Full Swing!

The Southern NH Ukulele Group (SNHUG) is thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration with two other New England ukulele groups—the A&W Players and The Unlikely Strummers—to host the inaugural New England Ukulele Festival! This special event will take place on May 4th, 2025, in Newton, Massachusetts, featuring performances from eight talented ukulele groups and other solo artists.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit the Ukulele Kids Club (theukc.org), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing music therapy and instruments to hospitalized children across New England and nationwide. To date, SNHUG has proudly raised over $100,000 in support of this incredible mission.

Join us for a day of music, fun, and community while supporting a cause that brings the healing power of music to children in need!

Sponsorships are now available!  For more information, visit the “New England Ukulele Festival” page -https://www.facebook.com/newenglandukulelefestival/

The UKC is affiliated with hospitals throughout the world including several here in New England.  To date, the UKC has provided over 16,000 ukuleles as well as music therapy sessions to children in need of a smile, as well as their families and caregivers. Studies have shown that the therapeutic power of music is an effective clinical tool for physical, cognitive and emotional rehabilitation in children.

SNHUG was organized twelve years ago and meets every other Friday in Brentwood or Exeter. They are open to players of all levels.  Meetings include classes, workshops, jam sessions, and open mics. SNHUG performs at festivals and community events as part of their mission to give back to the community.  For information contact snhug@outlook.com or visit  www.facebook/snhug
